December 2024

Our successful Christmas Crackers night of fun and trivia was worth the opportunity to spread our wings and perform over two nights.

The sketches and musical items were a smash and our biggest sponsor for the evenings, Kenilworth Bakery, was enshrined in the annals of theatrical history by being included in our traditional murder mystery round.

Thank you to Kenilworth Bakery and our other generous sponsors - Banksia Beach Fruit Barn and Aussie Meats and Seafood - for supporting our fundraising evening.

Christmas Crackers December 2024

May

Autumn Antics

Our first performance for 2025 is an evening of one act and short plays that will bring a smile to your face and maybe even a tear to your eye.

We’re especially excited to see most plays are being directed by some of the attendees from our Directors’ Workshop last year. They are all experienced actors from our theatre group and are enthusiastic about adding this new string to their bow. We are so pleased to see our hopes of expanding community skills start to bear fruit.

Dates: Friday 9 May at 7pm; and Saturday 10 May at 1pm and 7pm

Tickets: $20 evening performances, $15 matinee

Note: As there will be a licensed bar at our first performance with a variety of beverages available for purchase, there will be no option to BYO.

Play reading committee

We’re also looking at establishing a new non-performance role at 6MP for a committee to look for plays for future performances.

This committee will read, review and report back to the main committee on a range of plays that we could stage in the future.

Candidates for this committee are people who love to read and watch plays, and also understand 6MP’s unique make up. Members would consider: staging restrictions at our performance venue, ages and range of our actors (with a view to expanding this over the years), and what the Bribie community would like to see.

Marketing support

We’re also looking for people who are interested in marketing and publicity for 6MP.

If you feel any of these roles are something you would like to be involved in, please email us: 6mangroveproductions@gmail.com

Membership reminder

Please contact our secretary Hazel to renew you membership for 2025 if you haven’t already done so.

We also welcome new members, so please encourage your friends and family to join and support Bribie’s community theatre group.

We are always on the lookout for people who would like to participate in some capacity with our growing group.
