Your membership, your voice: 6MP’s Annual General Meeting

As a member of 6 Mangrove Productions, you help support community theatre on Bribie Island. Membership also gives you a voice in the association through participation and voting at general meetings.

Our 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 8 November.

Time: 1 PM
Venue: Anzac Room, Bribie Island RSL, 99 Toorbul Street, Bongaree.

The AGM will include presentation of the annual financial statements for adoption, election of the management committee, and an overview of the past year’s activities. All members are encouraged to attend.

Nominating for the committee

Nominations are invited for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and ordinary committee member positions.

To nominate, a candidate must be an adult member eligible to serve on the committee. Two other members must support the nomination, and all three must sign the nomination form.

Completed forms must reach the Secretary at 6mangroveproductions@gmail.com by Sunday 25 October 2026.

Current committee members retire from their positions at the AGM and may nominate for re-election. If there are insufficient candidates at the start of the AGM, further nominations may be taken from the floor.

Who has nominated?

The list of nominees will be published on this website from 1 November, showing each candidate’s nominated position and the names of the two members supporting their nomination.

The list will also be displayed at 6MP’s office or usual meeting place during the seven days immediately before the AGM.

Using your right to vote

Members whose annual membership fees are up to date are entitled to vote at the AGM.

For committee elections, each eligible member participating in the meeting may vote for one candidate for each vacant position. Supporting someone’s nomination puts them forward as a candidate; the election takes place at the AGM.

The voting method is decided by the management committee. Details of how uncontested and contested positions will be handled will be added here once confirmed.

For other ordinary AGM resolutions, each eligible member has one vote. If at least 20% of members present request a secret ballot, voting must be by secret ballot.

Unable to attend? Appoint a proxy

You can appoint another person to attend and vote on your behalf. That person does not have to be a 6MP member.

Your proxy appointment must be in writing, signed and received by the Secretary before the AGM begins. You may give your proxy voting instructions; otherwise, they may vote as they consider appropriate.

Contact 6mangroveproductions@gmail.com to request a proxy form.

The constitution also allows participation through technology that enables members to hear and take part in discussions as they happen. Contact the Secretary beforehand to ask about arrangements.

Have a question?

If you are unsure whether your membership is current, need help with a nomination or proxy, or would like clarification about voting, please contact the Secretary before the AGM.

Whether you nominate, vote or join the discussion, your participation helps shape 6MP’s future.
